I was literally able to port Quatre in no time. :-)
It will be here soon.
Oh hey bsittler! How's your day going? You're doing good on those SG2GG conversions lately. :-)
I converted Burn Rubber for MSXs + SN76489 but it works fine only on MSX2/2+/turbo R, not on MSX1s. o0
Oh man, I'm guessing it's a ColecoVision to MSX2 (MSX2+ and MSXTurboR) conversion!
Uh, no. I don't understand why it doesn't work on MSX1s.
Burn Rubber isn't the game developed by Daniel Vik and Vincent van Dam?
AFAIK they are active members of our (this) community. Wouldn't be better to just ask them to port it to MSX and/or release the original source code so, someone could easily and correctly adapt it for MSX?
Why bother converting? Even sound, I bet some "sound wizards" like John could probably create some nice original AY/FM/SCC music for it.
Well basically, Manuel said that Burn Rubber is Lotus F3. They're both the same.
I've done Quatre, and also Bomb 'N' Blast. Make sure you use the Konami SCC / SCC+ for enhanced music and sound.
Bomb 'N' Blast Here.
Quatre Here.
Enjoy! :-)
Hi Taylor,
Thank you. You are doing a great job on converting Coleco games!
For Centipede, you might want to take a look at the Mission emulator. It has a special patch file for that game.
A few more ideas for conversions:
- Atari Defender
- Opcode Pac-man collection demo
- Quatre (homebrew game by Nicolas Campion)
- Kevtris (homebrew game by Kevin Horton)
- Burn Rubber (homebrew game by Dvik & Joyrex) - I think this was released on MSX but I can't find it now? Also, I don't remember if it was a 32k rom as Coleco, which would be nice so that we can use rom loaders that use ram
Basically, I'm having a struggle getting Kevtris to work.
I didn't sleep much but Burn Rubber works now.
The problem was not related to MSX1s as I thought.

Centipede is already converted!
