My new game Photon is now submitted and accepted for the Mini Game Compo 2009,
minigamecomp.org.uk/, 4k category.
I also made a webpage for it at nevyn.organ.su.se/photon.

you had one more byte left , your game is only 4083 byte !
...
I see last the winner in th 4kb section was on MSX.
...
In the rules of competition there not very specific for MSX if it MSX1 only or all MSX in general.
...
I am surprised that the machines accepted are all 8 bits systems ( msx , c64 , vic , spectrum , ...) and ... AMIGA ( all versions !) !!!!

You can also run the game in a MSX emulator. I recommend blueMSX for windows.
I swear, it's a Swedish conspiracy!! Wink

Can you also make a ROM version please?

Thanks guys. I started learning assembler in 1984 on my Commodore 64 and it's taken this long for me to actually really complete a project Smile

I guess I could, gotta check how to do that first though.

If you're willing to upload (assembler) sourcecode for your game, someone may be willing to adapt that source to work as a ROM. Shouldn't be to hard, I might volunteer if I think the game is fun (didn't try it yet).

Btw. from that gamecompo rules I understand ROM format would be acceptable for submission? You might try that if you enter in that competition again: ROM format is really easy for emulators, easy to load directly using various utilities (on real MSX, using floppy/flashcard), and straightforward to convert into a cassette version. The other way round (cassette -> ROM version) not necessarily so. Programming environment is simple, most of the RAM free for use, and you can even combine some BASIC with machinecode in a ROM.

The reason I created cas-files is because I wanted to test the game on my MSX. If someone could point me to a specification of the format of ROM-files I can make one.
