Sorry for my current absence, but I am completely stucked with the Amstrad PCW/Joyce (has this computer been called PCW or Joyce in The Netherlands?
) port of SymbOS. It's 99% finished with the exception of little details about the always annoying FDC stuff. So it would be a shame to stop it right now - I just want to finish and get rid of it
I hope to get it finished this weekend.
SymbOS 2.0 release is planned for the end of august or the beginning of september.
@Sonic_aka_T: I am planning to prepare the screen manager source in a way, that you can modify and test it much better than in its current form.
I can't remember any friends or enemies having this machine. Never seen it before today. I don't believe it is/was very popular here in the Netherlands.
According to Amstrad the PcW sold over 8 million units, whereas the CPC only sold 3 million. In theory the web should be awash with pcw owners, but alas it seems not to be. The pcw port is great news, despite it meaning prodatron is so busy he will never answer my emails
@Trebmint: Sorry for not replying today, dont have email currently. A single sub control of a control collection (super control) cant be updated, you have to update the whole super control. This is really not a good solution, and I have to fix this for the 2.0. Will write you tomorrow. Yes, the PCW ports required my whole time today (an old-old bug, which didnt appear in the other ports before - those things are always funny!). But I want to finish it this weekend (PCW disc format works now), so I have 2-3 weeks for the MSX and missing features like your and Nerlaskas requirements.
@Patsie: Are you sure? The only active PCW club I found on the Internet is from the Netherlands

Cool, I think that's the first thing I'd call a bug I've found while working with Symbos
Anyway its given me the time to improve bits of symstudio.

This way I could probably easily make a test-suite to see if the routines are working properly and compare the results between different drivers. I'm looking forward to doing some coding!
Prodatron i know that you are still busy with the other ports of symbos. However i wanted to ask again and remind everyone about msx audio and scc/opl support.
I think it would be nice to be able to have support for scc to hear specific tunes, and the philips msx audio. So is there any chance that we could have an external symbos program that would give support for these?

By the way prodatron the pcw port in high resolution looks so nice!.I think that whenever 9990 is supported sunrise may have a big problem of finding enough stock of 9990 cards to sell because many people would really want to enjoy it.Ok I am seriously thinking to buy one whenever symbos supports it.
Best regards

Shame its just a MSX card. Now if it could be connected to CPC, Enterprise etc we could use the symbos OS for the basis of a very cool gaming platform.
@Trebmint: It woudn't be so hard to connect it to cpc..
