(you know, with the normally difficult enemies with lots of gold), big money Wink

There's one thing I don't get about this fight-the-enemy-and-get-the-gold thing:
I can understand that you (the playing character) gain XP from killing enemies, but where the **** does he get that gold?! Do all blobs and spiders and mechs and wasps and what not wear a wallet and do you just pick-pocket them after they're dead'n'destroyed? Wink

Nobody but Konami (including Kojima) should create a sequel to SD-Snatcher. Nobody but the original designers will be able to create a game with the same feel as SD-Snatcher. It somehow doesn't feel right either, even when a great storyline and great graphics would be drawn.

What one could consider, however, is porting existing sequels to MSX games to MSX, e.g. Ys 4 and Xak 3 could be done pretty well if you ask me Smile.

I think your are talking about YS 4 SNES here. PCE engine would mean comprimise on sound. or will it the MSX version also use redbook audio ???

One thing I would not mind for SD-Snatcher 2 is more of an YS approach when it comes to fighting enemies. It makes the game quite different, I know, but it also reduces the amount of graphics to be drawn significantly.
Here's where 'Cipher' comes to my mind Smile

A game with the same feel, cyberpunk, blade runner etc. etc. is doable. No need to be a Konami to do that. In the end it's all Syd Mead style Smile (Blade Runner, Aliens)

I think what people want is a great story/setting in a non fantasy world.
Let's be realistic when looking at the whole RPG market how much of these games are there ?
Why do you think the RPG2MK community was so wild about a blurred line/lines end. (Last one is the complete version which seems to be still not finished)
(Porting that one would also be nice and doable.)

yes please! I totally do not like the fantasy world settings anyways...

^^ Votes for a MSX2 version of Metal Gear Solid 1... It's doable (just keep it 2D)

It already exists Tongue - or am I the only one that noticed all the great "new" things in MGS were already in MG2? Wink

Let me proof it's the lack of graphic artist.

Should I remember the folks to Vampiric Evil ar supposed RPG by Mark Jelsema. Who tried to get graphic artists but when he finally got one the project was allready as good as death because the programer was tired of waiteing !!
The guy claimed to had a good engine
Do a google search on it.

And what happened to the rpg engine thingie we once saw a demo mentioned on here.
Was it someone just created a small thingie but then came to the conclusion this will take to much time ???

I'd say, vscreen is the ideal testcase here.. engine done already (or much done at least) .. and anyone can provide gfx/maps.

Actually, someone IS providing GFX at this time. So keep your fingers crossed, we might actually come up with some first completed game sooner or later...
And I also had some early help from Sutchan for the initial demo GFX. It's actually possible to find people but it takes a lot of time. I can understand for someone with artistic talent that it can be frustrating to work with the limitations of the MSX. But hey, that's where the challenge is at... Just imagine Wolf, if you had to stick to the PSG Wink
