Gfx with Knightmare heritage. I imagine there will be many bats.
Well the player still consists just of dots, the low one is the collision check dot.
About emulator palette, use openmsx 0.9.1 for MSX1 palette, on bluemsx use an MSX2. Else the stones glow too much.

Yes, now I want to bring my engine stuff together in a game, all the things discussed like how the mighty 9918 got hardware sprite multiplexer and all that Wink
How will it all look in the end, I dont know yet, I got phantasies of much sprite violence, how far it can be taken I must see while coding. E.g. I want hordes of enemies but dont know yet about move patterns that are nice playing and little scanline load.

And I thought of having an MSX2 enhancement. No, not the palette Wink But switch to screen 4, using MSX2 sprites per scanline power. Not a common enhancement I think. I hope the spritefix idea just works.
When switching to screen 4 without BIOS, writing the VDP registers, then it should work on the spectravideo that is no MSX2 but got a 9938 with 16k vram.

p.s. MSX2 palette is in the BASIC loader, can easily play with it.
but, how to set palette for MSX2+?

Cool, it is on the tube Smile Ok one can still fall funny outside the screen, but that is not a problem of the scroller, just missing code.
I couldn't wait to present the beta.

The part which is already working, I take care that it is pixel exact. When tiles move 0..7 pixels, got to bring together that position with players X. Actually no difference to scrollregister machines. Except that there are different tile types "left corner", "right corner".

The hard work of experts on scroll optimization an enhancements is appreciated, but please... stop it for a while, we should concentrate to publish a complete game with smooth scroll.
Too many projects and engines had a dead end...

The recent posting was not about further tuning the scroll, but about other things the game needs.
Like jumping without tile collision bug frustration.

About dead projects, I would like to see more beta downloads.
