yes... I've been reading about this, maybe because the editor is patching a file in the system (the ROM file), it is detected as a virus...
The Windows and Linux binaries are automatically built in the Github servers from the Python sources, so I think it is unlikely that they may be infected.

I'm trying to use it, but it is not working here. I got a single .exe file from the site. The editor is not compatible with Windows 10?

Is there any library that is needed besides the exe file?

I use primarily Linux, but I tested it in Windows 10... I'll check again and let you know!

Ok, I checked again in Windows 10. It worked ok for me, but I found a couple of issues.
Firstly, Windows SmartScreen prevents the EXE from running, because this is not signed. You should unblock the file from the Properties panel, or when the smartscreen message is shown, by selecting "Learn more" and clicking "Run anyway".
The other issue is that you must pass the hero.rom file as a parameter to heroed.exe, from the command line or using drag'n drop from the File Explorer. If you just double click on the heroed.exe file, an error message is displayed, but since it is a console program, the window closes immediately and you can't read anything...
I should document these details, or display some message in this case, sorry for the inconvenience! please, I would appreciate if you can try running it again and tell me if there is some other issue.

I tried here with another machine (this time one that runs Windows 7), but since it is a 32 bit machine and there is no 32 bit executable, it didn't work.

I disabled smartScreen in My main machine (windows 10, 64 bit core i7) but it didn't work either. Tried to run it using the CMD and by dragging the file hero.rom with the windows explorer.

Thank you for trying it... there is some error message when running from the command line? I have no clue what may be failing...
