Guys, I'd say you've made your points clear now. Ik will not tolerate further personal discussions. Javi is sceptical en Kai is going to prove him wrong. End of story. This thread can now focus again on the development of the game.
I thought this discussion is very relevant to the project/kickstarter. Javi was asking valid questions, I didnt see it as an attack at all....
It is not the questions that bother me, it is the free incorrect statements that do.
Do you want to know about the developement or viability of the project? Just ask.
If after that you do not think it can be done? just wait.
But it is incorrect to state facts that are oviously false or wrong.
@Kai, I'm interested in the MSX version. Can you already post some screenshots of the various SC8/SC5 modes? I'm also curious what is the adventure mode gameplay going to be like.
I think that most positive matter in this thread is the posibility that a good MSX team (6 people involved) could works on a big MSX project. However it seems that 20k € is a very high limit for our standar, and the limit seems to be around 3000€. Now it's the question: what MSX games could be made with 3000€?
Sure, no problem
Those snapshots are all screen 8, from the "adventure" part of the game.
I have not started the "combat" routines yet on msx, so I do not have screenshots from the screen 5 combat routine.
As I explained before, we will try to implement the "pointless fighting" ASM routine so we can load software sprites (character frames) directly from the Mega ROM, at a very high speed, to be able to show smooth animations and many different characters on screen at the same time.
This routine is not yet finished, but almost.
The game will not have scroll, when the main character reaches the end of the screen, the game will load another section of the street, and show it (like "treasure of usas", etc).
Hello AxelStone, as I explained before, the 20.000 are to create both versions, MSX and multi plataform.
I also explained that Kickstarter does not take any money from the backers unless the limit of 20.000 euro is reached.
Since this limit will not be reached, no money will be substracted from any baker, so we will not see any money.
But as I explained before, the game will be done anyway.
Once all the graphics from the PC/multiplataform version are completed, to port those graphics to MSX is very easy, and the coding in MSX will not take long.
As you know, AxelStone, I code very fast
Kai Magazine : Keep on going with this excellent work and just ignore what I consider as troll(s) of perfection
@Kai Magazine Yes, you code very fast. Good luck!
