MSX -even R800- cannot process TLS without the help of additional hardware. However, it is fairly simple to build a TLS proxy in our regular computer to talk with with TLS secured versions of POP, IMAP and SMTP. So the scheme would be:

MSX <----- SMTP -------> Proxy computer <------> SMTPS <--------> Server

A good software for doing this is stunnel. Dropbox MSX client from Konamiman followed this strategy since the Dropbox API required HTTPS.

Hi Karloch,

Currently i'm setting up a stunnel at my "server" at home.

In the config i see you have to add something for TLS. I'm not experiences with the stunnel. Do you know what i have to do to setup the secure part? I get it running but get an error when the stunnel tries to connect to the mail server.

I think i have to do something with this config part?

; Remote cmd.exe protected with PSK-authenticated TLS
; Create "secrets.txt" containing IDENTITY:KEY pairs
accept = 1337
exec = c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
execArgs = cmd.exe
ciphers = PSK
PSKsecrets = secrets.txt

Some progress again.

I was able to talk to a real email server Wink

Still so many things to do :D Somehow this project is a bit stupid. Probably no one will use it and it takes me a lot of time ;) But probably we all have that :D At least i have fun :D :D

Does anyone has experience sending an attachment using SMTP? I think you have to use Base64 for it. But does anymore know the command for it during the SMTP session?
