Hi to all of you.
It's time for me to try to search for assembly programmers to make a metroid like game on the msx2. I tried to draw something good in 5 minutes, so anyone interested (if there's one Big smile) in the project please contact me. I'm able to draw good bgrounds and sprites as well as animations. Rest assured it's a free collaboration between passionate msx fans.

@Andrea check your mail Big smile

well, a metroid in basic? my intent (or better, my desire...) is to create a metroid-like game, not a metroid port.
Anyway, I'm not really into basic. I like so much drawing pixel art, I do it since 2001...I'm searching for programmers cause I'm not a talented programmer...I'd like to be Jordan Mechner but unfortunately I'm not him Smile
Apart from that, I think basic is a great language but a game in machine language would be better.
and I know my post can be easily misunderstood by thinking I'm a visionaire or a noob thinking things would be easy...well I'm not...I just have the desire to try.

Umh, there is yet someone that thinks it's possible to create decent quality games in msx-basic (only msx-basic) on those old 8 bit beasts?

Even 'C' is slow on 8 bitters. asm is the only (unfortunately) way.

I think the same...maybe some static images for an intro can be written in basic, but asm is waaaaay better than any other language...we don't talk about the nowdays pc's, we talk about limited 8 bit machines. The only way to make a good game is asm. Smile
