Hi all. Things are starting to go better for me in the real life side after some months of, let's say, uncertainty in the job and economy side. So I have now some energy (and some, not very much, time) to start doing something in the geek-obsolete side again.

First of all I want to resurrect MSX Trivial Dropbox, which as you may know, is not working since May 2013 due to a change in the Dropbox API. I exchanged some messages with Latok about this, and in the last message he sent me (that was six months ago and I didn't reply it... shame on me!) he told me that the MegaFlashRom SCC+ SD + DenyoNet combination does not work in his Turbo-R GT... the computer simply does not boot!

Since I don't have a GT it will be difficult for me to trace what is happening. Someone else is able to reproduce this problem? Also, someone could suggest what can be going wrong? I guess that it could be a problem with either the timer interrupt or the extended BIOS hook, but I don't really know what can a GT be doing to prevent the computer from booting with that cartridge combination. By the way I have Turbo-R ST + MegaFlashRom + DenyoNet and it boots and works perfectly.

Oh, and Latok also told me that in a MSX2 the new MSXtdb tools did not work, but in the end it was due to a bug in the DenyoNet BIOS. I plan to publish a new version as soon as I can sort out the GT problem.

@konamiman: if you also could release a Nextor version for the Padial SD interface 2 slots, that would be great Smile

What about free cloud systems like OwnCloud? (See this: http://alternativeto.net/software/owncloud/) Don't you love protocols? (I can't wait to use your work on Botize). So build a multi-obsolete-platform standard protocol to access different cloud services, like many Android File Managers do. And add the propietary ones too: SkyDrive, Google Drive... Just an idea, I know it's a huge job.

Konamiman: I can confirm I'm perfectly able to boot GT+MegaFlash ROM SCC SD + Denyonet (Ethernet mode). If I switch the Denyonet to TCP/IP mode, then the GT won't boot, but that will happen regardless of the MegaFlash being present or not.

Ok, that's interesting... so the problem is the DenyoNet TCP/IP BIOS + GT combination, the MegaFlash has nothing to do.

Tell Latok to switch to Ethernet mode, and if he is able to boot, then it looks like the same issue Smile

I have the seem problem. GT_MegaFlash ROM SCC SD + Denynot in TCP/IP mode. (Turbo-r) displays the ROM messages but is stopped then.

I flashed the ethernet mode rom and now my computer does NOT hang anymore on start up, it boots Smile

But now I don't have a TCP/IP implementation anymore, right? So what's the use of ethernet mode if all those konamiman applications don't run anymore.

Do I now first have to install internestor lite or something?

Excuse me for asking newbie questions Wink

Then it looks like we have a known issue with the Turbo-R GT + Denyonet TCP/IP mode. Latok, can you confirm that the issue happens with TCP/IP mode even without the MegaFlash? I have never been able to get this Denyonet mode to work in my GT.

About the Ethernet mode -as far as I understand-, it is a legacy mode that turns the Denyonet in a Obsonet-like hardware. The whole of the TCP/IP procotol is then managed by the Z80 itself through the InterNestor Lite stack. If you want to work with this mode, you need to download and setup INL 2.0 for Ethernet UNIAPI or INL 1.1 (notice 1.1 version is compatible with legacy ObsoNET hardware like ANSTEL).

TCP/IP mode is the desireable one as it "hardware accelerates" the TCP/IP stack.

I confirm this tcp/ip mode has never worked on my gt. Actually, therefore i always thought this denyonet is one piece of dogshit.... Just like my mp3 player which also only functioned for some months... And is still in repair somewhere, i now realize, hahaha... Anyway, this denyonet might be useful after all, haha..... For me, transfering files between network connected devices would be great. Then i dont need to buy a nowind. I can use denyonet. Is this possible?
