Very impressive indeed Smile How does it sound on only SCC+PSG? Or only SCC or only PSG? In other words: what could have been done in the 80's on plain MSX hardware regarding voice synthesis?

Actually this demo needs 2xPSG+1XSCC, just a MRF+ or other new sound cartrige. By this way it cannot be done in the 80's (Hung up is 2005 too Smile ) this was my choice but the song can be replayed with only 1 PSG and perfectly performed at the 80's.

Technical part of the ISR samples need a more powerfull CPU than a Z80 to manage WAVs and FFT calculations. This is a hard but not imposible, Monsieur Fourier was born in 1768.

No compresion used to pack sample files

The encoding tool for the speech could have been developed on any PC with a little bit more ram than a normal msx.
I remember I've started using matlab in early 90's under dos and the idea of voice encoding by representing its frequency content is from those years.
I think that it could have done, but the knowledge on the subjects was very specialistic and the R&D on the subject at that time was not aimed to game development, but to communications.

[WYZ], If I'm right, the musical track is in charge to the PSGs.
Have you encoded the voice alone? How do you isolate the vocal track from the music?

Thank you NYYRIKKI. So the only dificult remaining is WAV files management.

@Artrag, no mistery here. WYZPlayer can play from 1 to 8 PSG Tracks plus one virtual more reserved for SFX. This track can be used also to lauch external events with only a flag.

there are a lot of songs with separate tracks overthere. Sometimes you can find a treasure...

having the player supporting voice sfx is an excellent solution

is the wyz player currently released already able to play voice samples?
are them integrated in the wyz tracker?

Why not integrate the voice samples in the WYZ data files and in the WYZplayer ?
