Interesting, the German PHC-28 has the same BIOS as the Sony HB-75D. Is the only difference really the keyboard and the BIOS? Nothing else?

The label is at the back on the German model, on the underside on the Spanish model. But it's not really a difference Smile

The French model has RGB out, but this one seems to be just composite out. Is that correct?

Yes. RGB was a request from the French government at this time (and no RF on the French models)

(Your quesion was not very clear - I thought you was comparing the two versions of PHC-28P - French models are not PHC-28P)

I considered the PHC-28L the French model and based the openMSX config on it. We don't know for sure the slot layout is the same as the 28L for the 28P... also, can you read the serial number on the German PHC-28P?

Also, did you notice the weird markings on the SHIFT and CAPS LOCK keys compared to the other versions?

I can't read the serial number. I guess it's on the underside of the computer. For the slot layout, I guess our new contributor can help.

I've noticed the markings on the mentioned keys. You can see that too on the other QWERTZ models by Sanyo: MPC-64 and PHC-30N (GE).

The German model has the Serial# 63400419, the French has #65101873.

I can't say anything about the markings on the SHIFT and CAPS LOCK keys, they are not common for german keyboards.

I think the slot layout is the same.

Can you verify it by running a program called MSXMEM2? It can be found in the zip file in the first post of this forum thread.

Hi. Is MPC-3's ROM still needed? https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sanyo_MPC-3 says so, but I don't know if the page is updated.
I just made mine (a recent purchase) functional and could generate the dump if needed.
