The answer to my question was Robot Wars, by the way; an Aackosoft conversion of the Arcade game Berzerk.

Doesn't seem anybody has questions left.

Are there any Japanese specialists in this forum? Then they can probably answer this question:

In which game does the following saying occur?

しょか の わるいもの お たべないで ください

And secondly: what does it mean??

(I only know the answer to the first question, but am very curious to the second as I cannot really figure it out. Also, I can only hope my transcription is somewhat accurate.)

I'd say it means: don't eat things that are bad for your digestion. Sounds somewhat familiar, but I don't remember where it was from again.

Thanks for the translation Sama!
The meaning looks quite random to me, but so are more things in this game Big smile

The western transcription of this ancient saying, which may look more familiar to some, is "shōka no waruimono o tabenaide kudasai" BTW.

I thought you meant that. The transcription in hiragana was not entirely correct. It should have been:

しょうかのわるいものをたべないでください。

Where was it from again? Ganbare Goemon?
