Yes, I am quite addicted to this. It's official. Right now I'm on Level 25 now and wish I could play more, but I need to get back to work... ahem... : )

That would be great if you could get it to work on an MSX2 with 128K Ram. I'm running this on my Turbo R GT and it runs very nicely. I'm loving the MSX Audio music as well a very nice touch! I found the music to be very enjoyable as well. Smile

If I could make one small suggestion, I've already died twice in this manner, but it can sometimes be a little difficult to tell that the main character is about to fall into the water when there is water positioned at the very, very bottom of the screen. Usually when a level has water setup like this, it's only a very small line of water that runs across the bottom tiles that is barely noticeable or rather it looks only like it is there to be a nice graphical touch. So initially, at least for me (as I can't speak for other player's experiences) as though I was safe walking along the edge only to find out that the collision detection treats it as your walking off the edge when hugging the bottom wall when there is only a small line of water positioned there.

Great job on this! It's really very addictive and the level design so far has been very interesting. Some of the puzzles remind me of Brandish and I LOVE me some Brandish, that's a game that's on my top 10 list. : )

thank you Skyewelse.
i'm very happy you, and other people love my game.
Level 25 is the last one, so you will get the treasure and a code to enter the hall of fame on the game's internet site !

I'm sorry but i didn't understand the problem you talk about.
there is no collision detection between the main character and what is displayed on the screen.
all detection is made in memory, comparing x,y coordinate to a Tab.

perhaps can you send me a picture of the problem you have found.

again, thank to all.people who played the game..' LOL!

Hi Eric,

Once I realized that I was on the last level I decided to finish it since my work for the day is mostly done anyway... what's another level right? : ) And Oh my gosh, a big LOL at the treasure at the end. Pretty funny. Wink

Sure, there are not many areas where this becomes a problem, actually the first time you actually get to a screen like this is on Level 12. I just took some photographs of it. Sorry for the terrible image quality, but in the third screenshot you can actually see part of the death animation of the character as he has stepped a little too close the bottom water line.

According to your website there may be some Special Levels as well to play? That should be fun once we learn how to access those!

@SkyWelse
Ok I see. There is graphic bug at the bottom of the level. The water must not be seen there.
But, it's normal that you died if you wants to go outside of the level.
It's the same if you want to escape out at the right, or the left of the level.
Perhaps, i must change that, and only block the charactere instead of killing him...

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there are no hidden or special levels.
There are specials code, i will talk about soon...

Well,
the LEVEL EDITOR is include in the .DSK file
See my website http://treasureofbabylon.ebsoft.fr to download the documentation of the editor (in french and english)

To enter the EDITOR
You can use the code "EDITMODE" at the beginning of the game, or run it from the basic : RUN"EDITOR.BAS"
The editor will edit a copy of the levels (originals levels are always safe).
So you can customize or create you own levels, according to the documentation that will reveal some secrets of the game.

To play with the levels you just edited. Enter the code "MYLEVEL" at the beginning of the game.

Some other usefull secrets code :
code "MSXMSX" will give 15 lives
code "MASTEROFKEYS" will give you 5 keys

code "SHOWCREDIT" will show you the credits of the game

that's all for the moment... *_*

Ah I see, so the Special Codes are passwords that unlock hidden perks in the game and it appears you've listed all but one of them, Special Code 1. I wonder what that would be!

By the way, both the cover and the website make mention of Jeff Viper's assistant Lidia falling into a Pit. Unless that pit contained Acid, I'm guessing she is alive somewhere and either still needs to be rescued or needs to rescue herself? Any chance of seeing some bonus levels with her as a playable character one day perhaps? : )

That's neat, so the Level Editor is already on the disk. Very nice that this feature is included! : ) I wonder if you would be interested in having a section on your website where level packs could be uploaded? I think the framework of how the levels could be designed could lead to some very interesting levels being created.

I donated today because I would definitely like to get a genuine copy of the game for sure. It was very enjoyable and again, reminded me of Brandish quite a bit. That's a fantastic game if you ever get a chance to play it, btw. The best version is for PSP and currently Japanese only. Gameplay-wise, it is an action-RPG / Puzzle Simulation Dungeon Crawler, not entirely like Treasure of Babylon, except for the need to chart maps and explore labyrinths so that you do not fall into pitfalls and such. But there is this interesting dynamic between the two main characters as they each have their own quests since they both fell into an ancient ruins and the often overlap in the storyline, which is why I asked about Lidia above to see if there was any more in store for players. : )

Thank you for your donation SkyeWelse. I 'm very proud to send a floppy disk to USA !! Wink

I will get more informations about the game you talk about, Brandish...

Otherwise, about Lidia... I have a question to you. Did you read my mind ?
Initially the game must have two characters with different capacity. But's it's difficult to put all ideas in only one game, specially when it's a basic program, because memory for basic is not expandable. Solutions exists, but i was also very hurry to publish the game and see if people will love it.
So... I planned to do more, and lidia will be back, for sure ;-)

It's a good idea to make a section with users levels. If i get some of them I will publish them on the website.
