Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to anounce the the birth of Bit Knights, a new development studio for MSX. The studio is the union of several people that has joined forces in order to make games for MSX2 with certain complexity. Our first game under development is Giles' Odyssey, a platform - adventure game inspired in modern motilogy (like Ulisses 31) for MSX2. Here goes some features:

  • Multidirectional scroll
  • FM Music
  • Big Final Bosses
  • Complete areas to explore
  • Sequences for intro and during game
  • Mixed mode in game: SC4 (game), SC5 (scoreboard)

We are working hard to get it finished during first mid of 2017. MSX blog has published the new with some images. It's in spanish, but I've already given the details Wink

We'll post any advance on the game ;)

Looking good! Love it when some mythology is added into the mix to give the story depth Smile

Hopefully you stay more true to mythology than Ulisses 31 Wink Especially some of the character names were pronounced in a weird way knowing what they were based on.

Good to see a proper SC4 mode in a platform (or in any other game, in fact...)
This sure will help to get a nice fps rate and we can see more stuff and moving faster on screen, making the game more alive and fun to play. So, good luck on your projects! Smile

P.D. A picky appointment: I saw on your web, split screen (game/scoreboard) to use different resolutions at once. Well, SC4 and SC5 have the same resolution, that's it Wink

SC4/SC5 reminds me of the VSCREEN engine. Too bad no one really used that one. But indeed, I'm wondering too if there are any updates for this one.
