Is this also needed for a FS-A1GT/ST (Turbo R)? I encounter a problem with the Sunrise IDE/RS232.

No. Your problem is different. Sunrise IDE/CF seems to have problems with certain slots configuration.

Aha, you happen to know which configurations and is the default Turbo-R GT slot configuration the cause of the problem I have? Is there a method to solve it?

I do not know the Sunrise IDE RS-232 combo but the Sunrise CF does not work on expansion bus slot of my Toshiba HX-10DP. The files are not displayed correctly. It works fine on cartridge slot.

Ericb59 has a similar issue with its Sunrise IDE clone on Neo Zemmix.

Regarding you, the cause may be a conflict between the two cartridges. First compare the ports I/O of the two cartridges.

Perhaps adding some additional pull ups... Some brazilian IDE's (all Sunrise clones) have some issues with pull ups.

Our IDE interface is NOT CF only. You can connect any other IDE device through the IDC40 port.

Where is the connector? We must solder it and remove the cartridge case? Can you post more info on your site? (pictures, etc)

However we think the CF is the more practical way to go.

I agree. I prefer even with two CF slots

Lastly we are making glided (golden plated) boards now.

This will sold when?

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding. We have two different interfaces the ATA-620, which has a normal IDC 40 pins connector (we provide the IDE-CF adaptor optionally) and we have the CF-640 which has a CF socket instead of the IDC 40 pins. Theres no need to solder anything; if you think you are going to use only CF cards then I would recommend the CF-640, else the ATA-620 will allow to connect any ATA-IDE device. It would be great to have a dual CF socket cartridge, but there is no space if we want to keep the Konami cartridge format.

The next batch of SD interfaces will be already glided, and we plan to gradually move in that direction on all MSX products within the summer. We come from the Spectrum scene where tin contacts are not really a big deal so we where unaware of this matter.

I belive Im hijacking the tread, so I'll stop here Smile
Feel free to contact me by mail if you have any questions.

Cheers!

I think to booting directly on FAT16 partition with Sunrise we need to modify sector 0.
