I suposse that both groups are needed. Game creators are needed since they produce games and technical freaks are needed since they support game creators solving doubts Wink .

Yeah, you shouldn't fix it in your software. It should be fixed in the emulators. That's how it works!
So, I'd recommend to NOT fix the bug. It's not your bug. It's an emulator bug. You can help to fix that, though (and please do!), but do not change your MSX code Smile

Also, I'm pretty sure that some native English speaker in this forum would be willing to help you to review the English texts! I would offer to help you myself, but as I'm not a native English speaker, I'm sure there are others who could do a much better job.

Exactly. If a game is MSX compatible (according to the Standard specification) but it does not work on emulators, the problem must be fixed on the emulator. I remember some other similar cases in the past (e.g. Goonies 'r' good enough).

Strange... I remember you looking at it in some Ru in Barcelona... and I think you read the MSX-Area magazine at the MSX-Area stand. That issue of the magazine includes a review of the game and the top cover is directly taken from the cartridge design.

Tsk, tsk....

What Manuel said, but I still advice to fix it in the final ver. Not all buyers of the .rom will use openMSX Tongue

Well then there are two possibilities for those users:
a) Finally start using a more accurate emulator. Tongue
b) Wait until the other emulator gets updated.
OpenMSX and blueMSX devs have a history of sharing technical knowledge, there is no rivalry between the two. The main problem is that Real Life(tm) can take up so much time that developing/maintaining an emulator becomes infeasible.

Now this is speculative, but I assume that the main problem here is that it will probably take a while before the problem is correctly diagnosed. Since this isn't directly asm coded but in (kun)basic, the extra layer in between will probably cause some subtle timing differences which will make debugging this rather hard. I suspect that fixing the original code will be mainly trying out switching lines of code from one place to another until it works => changing the timing.

Well, so far I have no idea what kind of bug we are talking about. Is it some corruption that only occurs on real MSX? Or is the sound replayed wrong in the emulators? (There are some known problems with the latter, but without solution so far yet; could or could not be related if this was a similar issue.)

About the digital edition: Kai will you consider selling more than 20 pieces of digital version of Life on Mars?

I hate to buy/order things blindly (without seeing the end result first) + I am already too late it seems, but I am curious about the game.

Kai, At the meeting of June 13 in Barcelona (47 Ru), you put/place stand with your games (Lilo, Nuts and No name) and I put/place stand with lots of Booming's Boy copies. You see my stand with all the copies. And in this last Ru (48 Ru, 10 days ago, December day 5), you arrive late, but you been in front of me and my stand (Msx Area) and you take in your hands the last number (7) of Msx Area. You been reading (or watching) calmly the magazine, with the Booming's Boy cover and with a five pages review of Booming Boy.

When you finish read (or watching), you left the magazine again in my stand. You don't say hello, you don't say good bye.

In short.... you knows the existence of Booming Boy long time ago....

Tsk, tsk....

Are you sure I was watching? or seeing.
As I stated during the presentation of Life on Mars in the projector, I was unable to sleep more than 6 hours over the last 72 hurs, and that very same night I slept zero hours, since I wanted to have the game ready for the Barcelona Reunion.
(those statements were recorded and posted on facebook).
Also I was completelly frustrated and furious because the game was not working correctly in time, and we arrived at Barcelona at 17:00 aprox instead of 10:00 as we should have, because we were trying to make it work but it was a big bug in it which only showed when we started flashing the games inside the cartridges, so we missed the sales window, and the game was not available for sale, and I was absolutelly furious, asleep, and a bit drunk to ease my rage.
My brain was in no condition whatsoever to retain, analyze or "watch" anything. I remember swapping some pages from a magazine. I do not remember the name of the magazine and I certaily did not read any of its contents, I just did because my son told me there was a picture of me in it, and I wanted to see it.
Regarding the games on the tables there, there were many, and I am sure I saw them all in a few seconds, but I do not remember any of the titles, nor recall grabbing the box and looking begind it, I would have remembered at least that, I suppose, but I cannot be sure. It took me 3 days to fully recover from the last week of full time programming 20 hours a day to have the game ready.
I do not have any reason to lie. I am sorry if you think that.

Sorry, as I just explained in my last post, I promise I was in no condition to be a human being. I will not repeat the same explanation as I did before, and the context of grabbing the magazine and swapping pages has been explained.
By the way I am sure you did not see me READ it. that is for sure.
I remember Xavi sorinas purchased one and spoke with you. I was not a human being that day.
I probably saw the cover of the game or the cover of the magazine, sure, but I did not "know" about the game. It is not the same, and in that particular day I could not show any interest on anything so I did not WATCH or read.
Also, I never saw any presentation, video or gameplay of the game, nor any article on any facebook post (which is the only thing I read the last 6 months)
Anyway, again: I have no reason to lie.
And by the way, I was trying to help a few posts ago, you know?
