made me watch youtube videos, and see and actually become aware of that game and its features and quality.
I hope you can understand that.

Hi Kai!

Please, avoid "to play" on youtube. Smile If you want try the game, try this:

Booming Boy Demo

;)

Now you can't to say you don't know the existence of the demo, right?

(a bit of Cuenca's humour) :P

I wonder how many people will ask to buy the digital version until the deadline. It seems that the market for digital copies of MSX software is not that small as people thought. Wink

Yes, I reckon it would be interesting to figure out how much the demand actually is (vs. the hard copy).

Kai stated earlier in this thread that he didn't want to harm physical cart sales / the business of people that produce these carts, and that's why he put the limit of 20 digital purchases (for now) (link). But this does feel a bit like a fallacious argument to me, because shouldn't products/services provide in a need/demand, and not the other way around?

OTOH I can understand such reasoning, (just) wanting to keep the hard copy alive!

There will always be people who'll prefer one over the other. And for a certain production one might prefer digital, and another time a cartridge..
So I guess I don't really share Kai's concerns in this matter.. :)

Agreeing to that, why not ask for help? Don't you want to give your customers a *proper* English version? Smile
(In case of digital, you could always release an updated version of course..)

That's indeed the first lesson of this interesting social test. At least, Kai Magazine has started the test while many other coders have always refused to make it (and will probably remain on this hard line in the future).

The second lesson is that to be a valid test, it needs to be made for a real new game. The numbers obtained by Kai Magazine for the digital editions of old games were lower, because the interest can' t be the same for old games, that many people had already in physical format. (It was my case for 2 of these 3 games, but I was though interested by the digital editions, and ordered them !)

The third lesson is that to be a successful test, it needs to be made on a website with many visitors and for that, MRC is the best option.

Thank you all for your opinions, suggestions, private mails showing support, and orders.

Since I have not been able to advance in 4 days due to the massive amount of emails, and the msx.org posts, I need to take some days off so we can finish the game and deliver it without further delay, so I will not be writting much for the next week or so.
Please do not take my silence as a disrespect or a lack of interest. Once the game is finished I will try to answer each and every post/email, but as I said, I advanced ZERO in 4 days.

Regarding the digital orders, since only half of the 20 people on the digital list have contacted me so far regarding completing the purchase (it is soon yet, I know), we will accept the names you post here to be included in case someone in the original list does not complete the purchase.
We will close the list on Deceber 31 and send the games to the original 20 on the list, and if there is someone missing, we will include the following names in order of appearence.
Anyway, the original 20 will have (as stated in the experiment) until February 1st to clear the payment (someone has already warned me they could not do it any sooner, and that is perfectly fine).

Read you soon!
