Personally I don't understand all the commotion about entertainment (like videogames) causing violence. If someone chops off someone elses' head after playing Snatcher/listening to Slayer or shoots someone after reading one of my Realtime Articles, you'd better ask yourself where that person got the weapon and more important: IS THAT PERSON STABLE? Why wasn't that person given any psychological help?

The only way you can blame a persons action if it regards multimedia is to plug a child into a certain agresive video game an let it play it 24/7 for the next 20 years.

If it comes to your last statement 'Why wasn't that person given any psychological help?'
I can be short (if it comes to the Netherlands that is). Here we have a law and it says that you can only give someone psychological help if he/she wantsit or is a threat to hisself or his enviroment.

The only prob with that statement is that mostly the harm is done before this conclusion is made.

The message (no, not backwards Wink) I was trying to get across there was violence existed long before the invention of videogames. People have been nasty towards one another since the dawn of time (or several seconds after that, I'm not an historian).

Did Osama Bin Laden play Mortal Kombat II before starting his Jihad against the USA?

Did Adolf Hitler read 'Hansel & Gretel' before ordering the Final Solution?

Will you start throwing pipebombs through the streets after you finished listening to Slayer?

It's easy to point fingers so you distract attention from yourself.

Don't get me started on Dutch law...

Kill a politician in broad daylight.
Knock down a burglar who's swinging a knife at your father who caught the bastard in the act.

Guess who get's the biggest punishment.

it's things like this that make me wonder how long the human race should be allowed to roam this lovely planets' surface.

sorry I didn't mean to get all philosofical on you. I'd better get an Australian beer and shut the hell up Wink

I think blood in videogames is very important, it is so say that if you kill a soldier in Metal Gear, he doesn`t pour blood all over the floor. It would be neat if you can step then in blood and leave trail and then enimy soldiers pick up your trail, and you blow them into chunks with rocket launcher!

Metal Gear Solid 2 is the first game in the MG saga that supports such a feature. You must even hide corpses of the ones killed by your hand! Nice feature.

This feature was implemented in MGS 1 (the snow stage). My question though: why a blood trail?! Is that somewhat you call fun? I don't get it?

Snow stage only lets soldiers follow your footprints. The blood trails are only to make it more realistic I think. Not for fun (however, there is a couple of sick people who thinks it's fun).

Doh, that was a kick in my pouch Wink

Blood is fun for anyone, who's not an impregnated comercial cow. Just watch Army of Darkness or Evil Dead 2 again Wink
