Right now the only storage my CPC-400 can access is tape, and I don't want to dump with tape, if at all possible. I recommend asking my friend who can fluently speak Japanese/English/Korean, owns/restores/upgrades CPC-400.
The lowest limit for import tax exemption posed by Japanese government is 15000 yen and a CPC-400 was below that so I was exempted. I guess other countries have similar limit, though I know many customs rip off, I personally experienced Italian custom DELIBERATELY rewriting a price value to 10 times the original and charged accordingly :x
I know there are Koreans and people who know Korean here. If you are reading this, please help us 도와주세요

Good news. The OCR version of the CPC-400/CPC-400S manual can be Google translated fairly accurately. ASTERiS told me there are some obsolete grammars that can't be handled by Google engine but they are marginal.
Almost off topic; you can mostly evade import tax with private courier services like Fedex, UPS, DHL (outside Germany) and Kuroneko Yamato (Japan). They are pricey but are committed to customer satisfaction.

Recently, the cost of CPC-400 which is completely repaired is about 167 USD in korea flea market. In my cases, I purchased one of unttapped CPC-400 model from korean MSX specialist in flea market. I just paid only 133 USD to him. All of function such as Rom cartridge, floppy dis driver and key board are under still good working condition. It is a great MSX gear for novice user. LOL!

Hello, I'm korean ...
I had no idea with importing/exporting process in Europe,
But I can tell the sellers e-mails (after check they can sell aborad) and sSome informations about the machines...

1) Because of Battery leakage and Power problem, I'll recommend buying Bootable ones.
- the leakage of battery could spoiling the mainboard, you should remove battery as soon as got the machine.
- sometimes the power supply could be broken with bad luck, Changing to SMPS/ATX power is reccommended too.
(some tantalium capacitor in power supply go dead - CIRCUIT SHORT! )

2) Keyboard is included. no original box. no accessories (demo cassette tape, cassette cable, manuals)
- but there could be some unoperated keys by some rust in keyboard mechanical switch... You can fix by inserting a little of Alchols or BW-100 into switch and press many times : the rust could be removed
- the keyboard is DIFFERENT from other seperated keyboard such as HB-F500/700/900 despite of same connector
- I made a converter which is act in HB-F500/700/900 with CPC-400 Keyboard, it could be a replacement of HB-Fxxx keyboard. ( refer the first picture in https://cafe.naver.com/msx/20219 )

3) RGB connecter pin-out is different from Japanese models (despite of same connector)
- same as CPC-300 : http://pds9.egloos.com/pds/200804/08/28/e0013828_47fa3d05a2e...

bifo, I wrote you a message via the contact form with more details. If you don't receive it (there are problems with this method lately) you can find my e-mail in my profile.

Thanks again PAC. My 400 is on the way, via surface. I'll update with my experiences, I'm on the other side of the planet (Virginia) so I expect it will take a while to get here. Final price was $195 shipped. It will be 220v but it only draws 30w so a relatively inexpensive step-down transformer should work with it, but that remains to be seen.

I think CPC400 can become a very nice machine by moving slot signals as below.

Slot 3 to Memory Mapper
Slot 2 to Expansion bus
Slot 0-2 to Disk ROM

If you can do it, do not hesitate!
