My downloadserver will be offline during the weekend. It will move to a new and faster machine and during this period you can expect (quite) some downtime (and errors) and other weird stuff. I expect all will be up & running again after the weekend.
ONLY the download site should be affected. All other file-hunter.com sites and the app should remain up (unless I screw up DNS stuff...)

And we're done Smile
I've built a new server last week and moved the download section of file-hunter.com to it on Saturday. People have already been using it quite extensivly today. Already over 70GByte of traffic in the last 18 hours Smile
I've also made preparations to move all other file-hunter.com (sub-) domains to the same server. I am planning to do this in the Christmas period. My hosting company decided it was a good idea to tripple the hosting cost for the 2nd time in 2 years, so I've decided to make some other arrangements Smile

Nice! Triple, wow, that’s something.

I also recently moved servers, the old VPS was running CentOS 5 which went EOL in 2017 so it was past due for an upgrade Smile. The nice fresh Ubuntu 20.04 server should keep me going again for a while.

My hosting company got a new owner 2 years ago. My hosting package doesn't exist anymore, but if I want to keep the same options as I had when I started out at this company 3 years ago, the cost woud increasedby 900% (yes, exacty 10 times more expensive). And although I am not complaining about their service & uptime, it's just not an amount I am willing to pay for this service.
Anyway... It gave me a good excuse to build a new server and configure it they way I want to. And no more shared hosting or VPS.

Migration of the first sites has been done:

https://mp83.file-hunter.com
https://homebrew.file-hunter.com

and the downloadsite are now running on the new hardware. I'm going to watch how it all performs and probably move the main site next weekend.

As everything seems to be running fine, I also moved the main site and some other stuff:

https://www.file-hunter.com
https://hosting.file-hunter.com

If you run into some weird stuff, please do not hesitate to let me know :)

LOL. Thanks.
Also just moved www.arnauddeklerk.com. At the moment, only the services needed for the Android App are still running on the old server. I am thinking of adding everything into the app, so it can run offline. Dunno yet.
I also don't know what to do with the Gr8net server yet. The webserver I'm using now might not be suitable for it And looking at how often it's used, I don't know if I want to put the effort into it. We will see :)

Last but not least: Activated the Content Delivery Network to speed up the loading of the screenshots in the online playing section. This should propagate in the next 24 hours.
Now only think & decide on what to do with the app and the gr8net server. Not in a hurry though Smile
