I think that whoever finished this great port did the right thing and right work. While I in the end completely forgot to vote for the MSX compo @ Nijmegen my vote would have gone to pointless fighting as well. While I don't have high affinity towards street fighter myself I find that pointless fighting has: great artwork, great coding and all it takes to be a good MSX2 title. It took alot of time and alot of developers but the result is there to be.

I hope that in the future this project will be continued by the same way it continued before and eventually all fighters will make it in. Pointless fighting shows what a MSX2 can do and how much we love these kind of great quality productions.

Really is too hard to get this quality, you need:
* A great knowledge of MSX hardware.
* A great code optimization.
* A lot of time.

It's really hard to get the 3 conditions Wink

You can also turn the equation around to make it sound more positive

*Great motivation
*great willpower
*lots of people sharing the same points

out of those three points the ones you mentioned will come forward. You will have the motivation and willpower to learn Assembly no matter what happens and no matter how bad things seems to be. The other motivated people will help you find the awnsers to seemingly impossible problems.

offcourse time is all you actually need to create progress but mind you that time becomes a less prevalent problem once you have enough motivation and willpower.

Hi, any news about this project? It would be nice to see it finished (with the other remaining characters) and released as a cartridge, in a nice box with a manual. I know I would buy it for sure, it would be a great cartridge to have to many people, even those that aren't MSX users. Smile

Why don't you simply contact the authors and ask them?

Because If I had done that it would not have the advantages of bringing this discussion here.

I don't believe any developer will go into the trouble of producing cartridges, boxes and manuals just because a single person is asking. There needs to be at least some people interested. If no one comes here and say "Hey, I would like to buy these cartridge too!", there's no need to try to convince the developers. They will see that there's no market for such a game and that's it.

In the other hand, if a group of people say that they will buy it, that might motivate them to do such thing (at least I hope). Smile

No, must we open a list of interested people in buying the finished game?
