Dear MRC admins, I am sure it's not difficult to do it from technical point of view. Please let me know how soon it can be done. I would like to have it done outside of DMCA or PROTECTIP copyrighted content takedown process. I never assigned the copyright of my messages to MRC, and as such I retain sole rights to them. Please respect my wish.

If anyone needs to know the reasons, it's because of incredible levels of intolerance to any dissenting opinions and use of degrading fallacies to retort to valid arguments. It is a huge disgrace that MRC admins allowed so many poisonous and disrespectful comments towards Mars and others who weren't impressed with Kralizec's rage quitting.

dhau, I would like to refer you to section 2.1 of our policies. Your request to delete your posts on our forum will not be honored.

I do invite you to send your further hatemails via then 'contact us' form as there is no need or benefit any of this in public on our forum - particularly considering you hate it so much.

Though you are still the copyright holder, by using this site you have agreed to the policies, and in particular this one which irrevocably grants publishment rights:
2.1 Content submitted to the MRC remains copyright of the author/copyright owner. Any user submitting content to the MRC to which they do not have the copyrights must have approval of the copyright owner at the time the content is submitted. Once content has been submitted to the MRC, the author/copyright owner agree to irrevocably allow the MRC to have this content displayed online and/or available for download. This ruling is solely meant to protect the archival value of the MRC, and to prevent disruption of the integrity of the content of the MRC.

If all your posts would be removed, topics would seriously suffer; replies by other users would suddenly no longer make sense, not to mention the unfeasibility of removing the quoted text from other users' posts.

Disclaimer: I wrote this comment from my own perspective as a former forum admin and as a forum participant, and not from my position as msx.org staff member (and thus should not be seen as an official statement from MRC).

I will research my legal options. Snout, who is your legal representative?

When was section 2.1 introduced and why do you believe it covers all messages retroactively?

What is the status of MRC? Is it a non-profit? What happens to advertisement revenue beyond paying for hosting services? Would it be a fair statement that msx.org is a profit generator for you? If that the case, would it be fair to say that you are profiting from other people's content?

If you want to take any legal actions, I suppose it's up to you to find out who to turn to. The same goes for your other questions. You shouldn't forget, though, that MRC is a website maintained by hobbyists and nothing more.

Plus, your reason to ask for removal has no causal link of any kind to your own messages, so at least to me it's unclear in what way your request would benefit anything.

dhau: yes some members have said mean things to eachother in the dramathread, it's what can happen when an argument heats up.
Definitely not wrong to have a bad temper once in a while, just human.

Who has never been beaten or bullied at school ? Did you stop going to school after ???

What does it matter. They rarely make sense anyways.

I like how the MSX scene is currently going Commodore 64 style, and being a bunch of dramatic fuckbags.

Man up, you pussies.

@Sama: Hobby or not, his rights are his rights, and the law is the law.

Dhau is a member since 2003 and there were no policies back then. He didn't agree to any of that shit, so you can't bring it up. It has no legal meaning at all.

You simply do not have the rights to his posts, and while you have quotation rights, his 1446 posts can be seen as a single work so that's not helping you violate his right to retract any implied license to publish his work.

@retrocanada76: Don't worry, this is just a MSX Related Community, which has been going downhill for years.

The real MSX scene is doing fine, regardless of the damage being done by this site.

Let's just respect Dhau wish just as we should respect others wishes. Delete his posts and move on.

This request would easily have been done outside the public area. Looking at the persons reactions in this thread this has probably already been discussed in another area (IRC?) and comes with a clear statement.

Too bad Dhau. But I guess you are taking the same decision Kralizec made. An I respect that fully. Although I get the feeling a game is played here. But I probably are wrong....

Come on MRC. Lock-it, Delete-it and move-on........ Nothing to see here any more.
