Kojima has stated Portopia was the game that got him interested in making games, so it's intentional to a point.
That makes sense.
Probably they could not get the MSX version of Portopia to include it in the game.
That's why Snake gets angry and hits the mirror in the cut scene. Because the PC-6001 tape does not load in his MSX2 computer.
And just after the blue light appears so that is clearly a reset
BTW, the video is not available anymore.
Can someone try what would happen if you try to load this in a real MSX? I'm sure it won't reset but give an error message in basic.
BTW, the video is not available anymore.
I grabbed it on time I guess...
Altered it a bit though
Here are some of the textures from the game:
Cassette
Sony HB-F1 MSX2
Sony SDC-500 Bitcorder
Very nice
Or maybe it's Okhotsk ni Kiyu. This is the continuation of Portopia (VOL2 ??). This game was released in 1984 on PC-8801.
Funnily MGSV is set in 1984
And the Sony HB-F1 was released in 1986 (^^!)
And "Take On Me" from A-Ha can be found in the game, but the song is from 1985 ;-)
BTW, the video is not available anymore.

Thank you ;) .
