It is not a save file for Metal Gear.
The header is from a MSX BASIC program, CLOAD format. But part of the content seems to be in ASCII .
In addition to what I said in my previous post, it seems to have some draw commands (LINE BF, COLOR) but data is mixed with music, so it is difficult to decode it.
I used the audio of the video posted a few days ago. I don't know if there is a better source (only the tape?) in the game.

Fuck it, I don't have MGSV on my PC only PS4 but I'll torrent it and try to extract the tapes.
Hope there are some Ground Zero sound rip tutorials meanwhile.
20 GB here we come!

Good news and bad news.

Good news: I have downloaded TPP and extracted 20 GB, I have the tools needed to secure the sound files.
Bad news: There is 5 GB of sound which is put in 5 chunks, and in these chunks are .sbp files that are 10-100 MB in size, which in return contain .ogg files that have the size ranging from 51kb to megabytes.

Gonna be a long time, but I'll post an update IF I find this needle in a NEEDLE STACK

Probably you will only find music from the 80's (Take on me, The final countdown, Rebel Yell, Friday I'm in love...), radio conversations, music from Metal Gear and Solid Snake games (MSX), SFX's... The tape seems to be only in that cutscene (-__-)

After hours of work I can confirm your statement to be true, sadly.
That's exactly what seems to be the case.
The directory has chunk0-4.dat, inside those dats are .sbp files containing .WWISE sound files;
- RADIO
- AMBIENT
- SFX
- VA (ONLY IN LEVELS)

The biggest .sbp packages are around 50-100 MB (OST) and 170-220 MB with VA or Ambient/SFX
On the other end, we have 4 hashed .dats, i.e
e2f8e499bc8f3606.dat
e2f9a1fda590d087.dat
e2faa449a7e0781d.dat
e2fb02c35da41a21.dat
e2fbebbd66f86086.dat

They have similar sizes to the .sbp packages 75;87;125;219 MB which makes me believe these encrypted .dats house the remaining .sbps from the cinematics.
atm, I can only unpack the chunk.dat files. I will have to wait for Atvaark @GitHub to update his unpacking tools and algorithm for decrypting the cinematic related hash.dat

Shame, however a friend of mine assures me he can decrypt them (I believe in his skill) but he's quite busy at the moment so we will have to see. But if someone provides new tools, I'll try again.

It's MSX related
Here is the last piece of the puzzle

Skip to 1:46-2:07 and reappears at 2:47 presumably for cinematic effect. I suppose when this game gets out, this sound file would be ripped.

That video is really amazing, the blue light is simply something magical :D . I would say that if there was no a MSX active scene today, I bet that this special gift wouldn't be present. On the other hand it seems that the mistery about the cassette data is clearly a task entrusted to us...

PAC, I like your thinking. It is a task put upon us indeed ^____^

Did you guys try playing the GZ tape in a microphone durring the cutscene? There might be some P.T. nonsense going on.

The only other easy thing I can think of is them trying some trickery with the companion apps for either game.

You cant do anything during that cutscene, the GZ tape isn't even in TPP officially.
Right now we are waiting on the tools to be developed for decrypting the cinematic parts of the TPP data.

we've spend quite some time reverse engineering how metal gear 1 works... there are 256 different fields (not all are used) and I can tell you there are no hidden fields in metal gear 1.
