When is the birthday?
Where is the party? Where are the free drinks? Wink

I remember when this website was hosted in a subspace of XS4ALL and (if I remember correctly) it was called with a slightly different name... perhaps do you remember that old web address?
This is the oldest pic of MRC I've been able to found:

...and do you remember this animated GIF ? ;)

EDIT: I have found it. The original website was http://www.xs4all.nl/~sandervn/msx.html

Funny, I thought about this today as well. Last MC(C)M issue has been 12 years ago as well. Sigh.

I just wondered when the first webpage appeared to ever mention the term "MSX" ?

I mean, I lived through those days BA-team, and can still remember that MSX specs were cooked up around the time that Commodore 64 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum hit the market, and started their battle for world domination... must have been somewhere in 1982. Surely in the early stages of developing MSX specs / building prototypes etc. there has been some publicity (magazine articles, speculation, interviews), but what was the very first time that "MSX" was actually mentioned on a webpage? And what site? In what context? For some perspective: MSX hit in the market in... 1983, right? 'Internet' existed before, but didn't become known to the masses until like a decade later (early 90's).... In between: telephone modems, directly dialing a specific number of some BBS, and reading pages in a teletext-like fashion... at least I'm happy those days are gone oO

Any ideas, historic notes?

That would be a nice idea for a future contest. Who can find the oldest reference to MSX on the web? Smile Of course you will need some form of proof that the page is actually that old...

Hmm... www-page mentioning MSX might be actually relatively new...

Using google I found that MSX was mentioned in net.micro newsgroup 06.03.1984

Well... You have to remember that MRC has today 5 times more members that the "internet" had computers in 1984... "Internet" reached 1000 computers milestone in 1984... Same year when DNS was taken in to use...

I also doubt there is quite a much data that has not survived all these years...
