Conact Daniel.
He occasionally sells them. I bought a couple of computers from him. Good service and good after care. One of the best sellers around here, if not the best.

Looks like all I really need is an FS-A1 to play that ROM though?

The box gives the specification... 128kB VRAM. So it runs on any MSX2 with 128kB VRAM.

As Manuel said.

Yes, the FS-A1 will play Mr. Ghost on cartridge just fine. The game does not use any of the capabilities of an MSX2+, or extensions like MSX-Music.

NO, imho. Turbo R is a great machine, but ridiculously expensive these days. Most goodies it brings (V9958, MSX-Music, 256 or 512K RAM) can be had much cheaper by adding some extra's to an MSX2(+). If you 'need' MSX2+ at all. For the bulk of MSX software, an MSX2 will do the job fine. And the speed of a Turbo R is mostly useful for development purposes not so much for other uses like games.

Btw: in the context of this thread, people will have been referring to this Panasonic FS-A1, a basic MSX2. Not the Panasonic FS-A1ST (or GT) as seen in above auction. Don't be fooled by the similar looking type designation: these are very, very different machines!

So get that cheaper FS-A1, and keep your kidney! :-)

Can you expand the memory on a FS-A1? Thanks!

Yes it is possible, the question is are you up to it?

I would instead recommend a modern memory expansion cartridge, perhaps something like a MegaFlashROM or a Carnivore cartridge which will also allow you to play disk and ROM games from a microSD or CompactFlash card.
