I need to listen to international radio on my MSX, where are you? Add your favourite internet radio to this list:

Released new version of GR8NET firmware 0.9. Has audio quality improvements and some changes (look at the very end of the manual for log). Has mapper detection mechanism (special thanks to Pencioner). If you want to compare how 0.8 and 0.9 sound, flash 0.9 into some free space (e.g. starting sector 4 if you do not use MP3, or starting sector 8), and perform reconfiguration to that image.
In addition, code for TCP/IP UNAPI for Fusion-C is released, can be obtained here

I can notice 0.9 being somehow faster when booting. Maybe it's placebo?

Btw, Eugeny, what do you exactly mean with "sound has been enhanced"?
OTOH, rom loading feels like using sofarun, but without having to use it Smile For me that's one of the big highlights of this version.

Talking about faster booting, that pause after "Press TAB key for boot-up menu", can it go away? I prefer the boot-up time to be as fast as possible, any extra delays can get annoying if I’m repeatedly testing something. If message is printed sooner the user has plenty of time to react during the network detection (or else quickly reset and keep TAB pressed).

Maybe also a key to skip the network detection, if it’s not connected and I’m just testing with some of the other functions, again it adds unneeded delay. (Of course even better if it could instantly detect that it’s not connected without the need for a key press.)

You can skip DHCP with setting up some static address (usually you can configure router to reserve a range of addresses which DHCP wouldn't use so you safe and don't have collisions). I think that could make boot faster, especially with cable not connected

Have some troubles with update.bin download... NETBROWSE hangs with a "Device I/O error" at 3/4 circa of the download process.
Instead, the MSXHub command "HUB GET http : ... /update.bin" works perfectly and saves update.bin into the SD.

if you update, you should first turn to mapper mode 0 with _NETSETMAP(16) and then after reboot _NETBROWSE will not spawn Device I/O error anymore Smile You need more memory available (some other mapper can reserve it), that's why it fails i guess
