Hi, I'm new to the MSX, I managed to acquire a canon v-20 a couple of months ago and got it back in working order. I was happy enough with that until I found that most of the best software (games and the like) is only available on cartridge. So in routing around on the net I discovered the existence of programmable carts and saw a bare Carnivore 2 PCB for sale on EBAY. I have bought the PCB and sourced all the rest of the ICs and other parts. The BOM calls for a SG-310 50MHz oscillator. I found this exact type on Aliexpress but have to buy way more than I need of it. My question is simple; I found the following on EBAY the only difference I can see is that its startup time is 10ms whereas the SG-310 has a startup time of 2ms. I'm trying to bring this in as cheap as possible and would be greatful for any help anyone could give me.

As it takes up to 120 milliseconds to load the firmware into Altera, the oscillator starting after 10ms is absolutely fine. Just make sure you are buying the correct size. Also please keep in mind that those oscillators don't like to be heated too much, so avoid soldering it with hot air.

Thanks for the info Alexey. I've verified the size, its the same as the SG-310. I'll let you know how I get on.
