What's this Youtube MSX spam?

Occasionally I look on Youtube for MSX-related videos. However for quite some time Youtube has been flooded by spam clips, usually consisting of a number of arbitrary still pictures and some annoying background tune. The 'users' uploading this shit do so by the thousands an hour so are obviously spambots. However as I don't see any obvious links or commercial messages, I don't get the point of why it's done.

The problem is that by using search keyword spam, legitimate MSX content (and many other search terms for that matter) gets flooded in a 100-to-1 ratio and therefore gets unfindable. Is there any way Youtube could be persuaded to install measures against such abuse? It shouldn't be that hard filtering users uploading 1000 clips per hour. Somehow reporting individual clips doesn't sound efficient (and lacking a Youtube account, even that they won't permit me).

I've been noting the same. It gets really irritating trying to find legimate MSX videos. Before, I checked nearly everyday to see if there's some new videos on MSX, but nowdays I don't want to anymore because of this spam. I hope there will be some solution for this.

That's weird. I almost never run into things like that.
The only things I run into, which I could do without, is that motor cycle which needed to have the model name MSX, and this MSX FM channel which comes from a game (dunno which one, maybe GTA, cuz I remember there was an MSX channel on the radios)...
I must mention that I am logged in to Youtube when I search. Are you guys logged in as well? If so then it's remarkable...

I just checked and it seems that the bots have been silent for at least week for now. Hopefully they remain that way.

Here's some of 'em:

I am never logged in as I don't have an account. It sounds odd that logged-in users have different search results. Do you really mean that when you search on "juno first msx" you don't get a search results page with a dozen recent spam videos that are all 45 or 49 seconds long?
Edit: no, the spam I get with this particular search term is all of the last week so they haven't been silent. Also, when I just search for "msx" and sort on time uploaded, most of what I get is spam (the mopeds I can mentally filter out easily).

This looks like the regular things I run into when I search MSX... Results seem relevant...

Here's the results for the query: "Msx" for the last week: http://www.youtube.com/results?filters=week&search_query=msx...

It's been 4 to 6 days since the last bots, so hopefully they're gone and not uploading new stuff anymore.

Hardly. If you also sort on upload date, you'll see.

But, why do they spam fake msx videos?

This must be the doings of some evil Commodore fan. Tongue
To be honest, if you look at their other videos, they seem to spam every main computer or console system available, not just MSX.
