Wow, it's so cool to see that MSX still seems to be alive Smile

I was quite active back in the days (I was part of the FAC group and mostly worked on the music side of things in FAC Demos and FAC Soundtracker and such). And every now and then I still indulge myself in a nostalgia trip on youtube; watching old games, listening to some great MSX music, that kind of thing.
I also made a java-based MSX/MSX2 emulator with support for things like SCC and MSX-Music, and with options to enhance the sound and patched-in smooth scrolling for some MSX1 games. Not the most authentic emulator (and probably everything I did there has been bettered by OpenMSX and such), but it was fun to do.

A lot of great talents started out on the MSX platform, and that's what still makes it special to me. People like Kojima, the group of composers at Konami and many others.

Anyway, this is just a shout out that I think it's awesome that people are still putting in their love for a platform that I feel deserves to be remembered Smile

The name rings a bell here... I started tracking with your first FST... Great stuff for its time... Haven't stopped tracking on MSX ever since... But, ehrm, I changed to Moonblaster in 1994 Wink

Hehe, yes I suppose FST became a bit long in the tooth at that time Smile
I remember the (my) biggest issue with FST was that is was too heavy on memory usage, and we never got around to creating a smarter data model before moving on to other things.

Wow, even I forgot about that one, damn I feel old now, lol. But thanks Smile

Nice to hear! Smile
I felt all innovative and stuff doing that Wink, but it seemed people didn't really bother and played the applets instead.
Maybe I should bring it online again sometime

Ok, back on topic.. Wink
I also remember that virtual arcade.. I guess it was pretty cool, but it was Java/no-sound right?
Perhaps it's time for a proper HTML5 version then?? Wink

- edit: reading your OP a little better, it *did* seem to have sound? Smile Pretty cool.
(A HTML5 version would still be cool nonetheless Wink)

The arcade also featured arcade/MAME emulation + some games IIRC?

Yes it actually started out as an arcade emulator, but later I added MSX/MSX2(incl support for PSG, SCC(+), MSX-Music, with a stereo mode), Sega Master System and Spectrum support. There's is even some half functional NES and AtariST emulator buried inside somewhere.

HTML5 with WebGL would be cool, but I'd need to start from scratch and I'm not sure if I'd want to put all that effort in again. And what about sound? Is it possible nowadays to do real-time sound generation in HTML5/JavaScript?
