Hi everybody, how do you play games like Solid Snake in Zemmix? The game is a rom file and it saves in dsk, so I need to load rom and a blank disk into Zemmix. Which is the combination to use? MGLOCM (rom) + Sofarun (DSK) perhaps?

Thanks.

Hi AxelStone,

You can try the latest version for SofaRun, it includes a new tool to load ROMs (SofaROM), which should be able to launch MG2 + saves on disk. The "ESE-SCC" mapper should be automatically selected. Let me know if that works.

Hi Louthrax, how it's going? About ESE-SCC I'd like to ask, yesterday I was doing tests but never selected, allways Memory Mapper. I've tried switches for ESE-SCC in slot1 (switch 4) and slot2 (switch 5 and 6) , but it seems that doesn't detect even forcing at loading (/D5 if I can remember).

What's going wrong? Thanks

Sorry for mistake, SROM runs fine with ESE-SCC, probably I made a mistake with dip switches yesterday (it was so late LOL! ). Using your suggestion it works Louthrax:
- SROM for ROM in ESE-SCC
- SRUN for user disk.

Thanks Wink

Ah, cool to hear that Smile I can't give too much indications on OCM as I don't have one.

I'm trying to improve the support for OCM (adding the other supported mappers), but I do that in blind-coding (thanks to KdL for the tests!), so it might take some time...

Je, another mistake. Efectively game has been saved but not in disk. I've exited from game and I see a file mgear.mg1 in SD in same path where rom was executed Tongue .

I suposse it must not be problem while it not try to format disk Question

Aha, some features can sometimes be confused with bugs Smile The same system (saving on SD Card) also work when you launch a game and save the "Game Data" with Game Master.

Note that you can modify this "Save Path" in the SR.INI file, so can still save to a real floppy if you put C: or D:, depending on your Nextor setup (not much real interest, but you can Smile !).

EDIT: I've seen no ROM games allowing to format a disk so far. Some DSK games do, but as this is done on the virtual DSK files, you can't loose your whole SD card (assuming you use SofaRunIt).
