I have loads of midi files on my HDD and would like to play them at the best quality I could (without buying extra hardware)
I have a midi to usb cable, both in and out to usb.
Is there any good mt32 and or cm64 emulator for windows that can play music from the midi-out of the musicmodule or MSX-midi (Tr GT) or do I really have to invest in real hardware like a cm64,mt32 or sc55?

I honestly don't want to dismiss what you're trying to do (and possibly I'm misunderstanding), but if you want your PC to play those MIDI files, why not just transfer those files on your HDD to the PC and play them?
I guess you could make the MIDI interpreter on your PC think (or pretend) it's an MT-32 with Munt:

But if the idea is more to just play MIDI files through a PC and not necessarily MT-32 sounds, then openMSX offers some options under "Audio Controls" to redirect it to your Microsoft MIDI Mapper/GS Wavetable.

Unfortunately, I've yet to be impressed by the MT32-music of IC. I'd pick the original FM version any day.
