Just found this video: 3 MSX machines (Sanyo MPC-70FD2, Panasonic FS-A1ST and A1GT), 2 with Snatcher cart, 1 with Quarth and a Panasonic MSX audio cart tomtop it off. All playing MGS files in stereo through a mixer! Quite jealous now ;)

And don't think it's just the MSX guys that are crazy with their music. Here a slot expanded Famicom with if I am correct 8 extra cartridges with different sound chips...

Nice, although the setup of Meits sounded better ;)

Yeah, i should say that my MSX audio experience improved in magnitude of an order (at least) when i bought the mixer. And i had to cut off pin 49 on a lot of cartridges after that, too, lol.
Honestly i had (and still have) plans to coordinate two or more MSX machines playing some tune as well. I promise to update you about this Wink

Well all this expensive synthesizers ;) I just wish that Japanese dude had some recordings of the actual stereo output (not just from the video camera). Real MSX sound still makes me happier, somehow triggers something down below...

Nice to read. The reason is probably that my track was made for this by myself. I'm not sure what the guy in that video did, but I wouldn't be surprised if he downloaded some MGS library and just threw it at his hardware ;)

You're not hearing one synth here. Although the MIDI signtal is used (1 to start the OPL4 track in the center screen and 2 to play channel one of the Moonblaster tune) there's no MIDI message LED blinking on my synths...

By the way, they're not that expensive. Just don't buy them all at once, that's all ;)

Hehe, good one Meits! I still don’t own an OPLL4 so did not recognize the sound.

I agree he may not have composed the MGS’s but still had to do some work on them to just play certain channels (or can that be done in the player?).

Pretty sure Gyabuneko composed those tracks himself... Just check his Youtube channel, a whole bunch of nice arrangements, as well as some game mockups. E.g. check the Dragon Spirit rearrangement for MSX-MUSIC, really well done...

In this video he seems to have composed the track split up between three MGS files and then triggers them simultaneously on three MSX computers using a joystick splitter.

Yes that was my impression as well, about the split up of the track over 3 files and computers. I did not know about him. Will definitely check out his work on YouTube.

Ok confirmation that at least the first song in that video was rearranged by him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NIl_jhHibU&t=60s
