Maybe this has nothing to do with your problem, but just in case: are you using original 2DD disks, or are they 2HD disks formatted as 2DD?

If they are 2HD disks, you must cover the hole on the right side, for example by using a small piece of tape. Otherwise the PC FDD will assume that the disk is formatted as 2HD and will not read it correctly.

Follow Konamiman advice, first.

Then, to read 2DD disks, there is a workaround if you did not changed diskrom yet:

(INSERT DISK)
POKE -609,201
PRINT DSKI$(0,0) (do this a couple of times)

Then disk should not stop anymore but it will read 2DD disks normally.
For auto-boot disks, you should do the CALL SYSTEM trick first (POKE &HF346,1).

{mod: e-mail address removed by request of user}

The model is vg8235/00.

//edit: thanks guys, I'm using HD disks with covered lower right hole, but it doesn't help.. I guess I'll stick with the 8245 diskrom, I feel like I've had enough Smile

What the F***.

Changed the diskrom to Fastrom IC.

"FILES" shows all files on the 720k formatted disk, but when I try to run a game, it either says "disk offline" or "disk offline in 10"!!!!

WHY? I don't get it. 360k games, yeah, they still load fine. omg..

I connected the drive with a modified main cable.

Should I try the external connector? I'll try it.
