Have you tried it with 720kB disk images?

(Fun fact: the host=msx setting enables the Gotek to use 360kB disk images)

The videos don't show whether you used 360kB or 720kB images. Or both. But if it works for you, great!

In the end I think the missing link was that CN3/PIN6 and CN15/PIN10 connection. Without it, there is no drive select 0 signal on the external FDD connector.

EASE and other DSK images (not msx home office) are in 720k.

I think however that the ideal thing would be to have the original user manual to read the right indications and specifications abouut the use of the external fdd port.
