Hallo guys.
I've 2 questions about my Philips NMS-1205 Music Module.

1) Since I got it I used the RCA output to hear the sound of the Music Module. FM-PAC and SCC use the standard audio-output of the MSX. Is it possible to do the same with the Philips NMS-1205 Music Module? My goal is to use both simultaneously without use an adaptor that merge the audio output coming from the MSX with the one from the MusicModule

2) I know it's possible to digitize the audio from Philips NMS-1205 Music Module using internal/external mic. Which kind of file can I obtain? Can I play it on a normal MSX without using the Music mudule? If yes, which program can do this? Is it possible to play the obtained sample from Normal Basic? My goal is to digitize some shorts sample and include it in my basic programs.

Regards

2) several programs exist, also Moonblaster 1.4 can do it.

Unless you use a general sampling program and a general sample replayer, you cannot replay the samples without music module.

Better go and search for MSX sampling programs (e.g. PSG Sampler (which supports more than PSG)), but I hope other people have more ideas.

I didn't quite understood your question. But the NMS-1205 also outputs audio thru MSX audio out connector, so if you use any combination of MSX-Audio (NMS-1205), MSX-Music or SCC they will be mixed along PSG and keyclick on audio output or RF.

Ofcourse, any of those 3 can be modified to NOT output audio thru MSX, so you'll have to externally mix those audio signals.

It may be too soft to hear.. some msx models have have trouble with mixing cartridge audio with internal. In my sanyo wavy phc70fd I can not hear it unless I increase volume by a LOT.

Maybe the a Modulon slotexpander can be of help, it got volume adjusters, although I dont know well it works with music module+fmpac etc

You can use this (quote wiki)

On the Philips NMS-1205 Music Module replace R41 with a 27K resistor to increase the output volume to the same level as MSX-MUSIC. This comes in handy when playing Moonblaster stereo songs.
On the Philips NMS-1205 Music Module lift or cut one pin of R39 (10K, Brown Black orange). That will stop the audio from reaching the MSX slot. The audio will now only be routed to the two (mono) connectors at the right side of the cartridge.

1) i did not use yet the music module without rca outputs. You say that it works in the same way as scc abd fmpac. when i boot msx the software of music module starts and you can hear nothing unless you connect the 2 rca output. so i thought it would be the same for all software

2) i'm thinking something like nyyrikky did in his last demo. record a music with music module, save it as a file. convert it in psg compatible format and re play it from basic.
i also saw a demo who did the same. i'm talking about the demo with tha character from south park.
the goal is: record and save sample, transform it to be playable from psg, play it from basic. maybe turbor does it via pcm, but i need to do the same cia music module mic

Open your music module and check if the line from pin 49 has been scratched somewhere.

That's mine... I cut it myself, because I don't want the music module to play through my MSX.

thanks guys.
before to choose to use only rca output, i will try to change the r41 resistor ( any suggestion where is it before i open the Cart?)

Another question: have you got similar suggestion to obtain the same result with FMPAC by club friesland?

My target is to have similar output volume for SCC of MFRSCCSD , MUSIC MODULE and FMPAC.

THanks in advance
