I've recently purchased one of these machines, working fine; but with a faulty diskdrive which I'm trying to bring back to life.
The machine in itself is really curious, it's a 128KB RAM machine with a V9958(!) VDP installed despite it's a MSX2 machine, not a MSX2+ one. Also, the disk drive seems to be very special as it has the power lines embedded in the data cable.

The question is, which one is the model used as reference to build this machine?, the Sanyo Wavy family maybe?. I'm asking that because in the Hans Otten site it's documented the Sanyo Wavy 70FD drive connector with that special cable arrangement; but I want to be sure that it's right for this model.
I've done some continuity tests and I've found that odd pins 7-27 are all the same (1,3,5 & 29,31,33 seems that they're not connected); but when powered up, only the expected pins 7,9 & 11 are driving +5V. As I'm a total noob at this and my electronic skills are very basic, how can this be achieved?, using diodes?.

Thanks in advance Smile

The AX-370 looks like this Sanyo model:

Of course, without the MSX2+ add-ons

Arabic machines are Sany or Yamaha, AFAIK. This one is clearly based on the Sanyo, indeed. Does it also have the slider on the front? If so, it's probably almost identical, including the V9958.

It's exactly the same box.

No, it doesn't have the slider. Sadly it neither does have the MSX-BASIC 3.0, would have been a beefed (128KB) up MSX2+!.
I'm not very confident about fixing the drive, I'm always getting the dreaded "disk offline" Sad

It would be nice if you can provide high resolution photos of motherboard.
