Ah I confused it with the battery compartment Smile. Now I see it on my CX5MII too, unused…

I've compared with the disk rom found in dhau's machine, and there are only 8 bytes with a different value.

As the disk ROM has FDC registers memory mapped in its own ROM area, a software-dump will always have a variation at the position where these registers are mapped. That is probably the 8 bytes difference. At which offset are the 8 bytes difference? The registers are usually at the end.

That's indeed at the end of the disk rom :

As I can see, it's an AX-350, not an AX-350II. The Arabic firmware is slightly different.

Here's the menu of AX-350 :

Here's the menu of AX-350II :

AX-350 does not have the CALENDAR and the English and Arabic wordprocessors are displayed separetely in the menu.

Which menu do you have ?

The II menu with the calendar. Its an early II, not marked on the top of the case, only on the bottom shell.

So, there were some AX-350II with the external appearance of the AX-350. That's amazing. Anyway, it's a very good machine!

Beautiful machine. Electrically like YIS805, but in the YIS503 outline. Maybe, I would only prefer having the removable floppy disk & FDC in the SLOT 3.3 in order to keep a good tradition. Does anyone know, whether it was it introduced to the market before or after YIS805?

Looks identical to the YIS tbh. Same plastic mould.
