Hi,

Where can I find a complete Beer IDE FDISK tool? The one I found on Hans Otten's pages is missing the BIN file with the ML program... so it's useless...

Thanks!

Oh, please, and thanks in advance! Without it, it's hard to use Beer IDE, as you can't create any partitions...

Formats 1.8 and 1.9 are different and incompatible, but I don't know exactly the differences (1.9 was first only available on a Russian forum and some tools are experimental, so be careful).

blueMSX emulates only version 1.8 but the formatting with BEERFDSK.BAS does not work in the emulator (hanging when initialising the formatting). I don't think there's a specific FDISK.BIN, but maybe I'm wrong.

Can you be a bit more specific on what "doesn't work" means? What happens?

I found the beerfdisk stuff on msxvillage.fr: http://www.msxvillage.fr/forum/topic.php?id=627
:) Result on openMSX is now this (so, also not OK)... hints welcome.

This is with firmware 1.9RC1. (I guess the fdisk program doesn't support that one.)

And this is what I get with 1.8:

Looks like querying from the IDE drive goes wrong (the size and the name are corrupted or wrong). But for the corrupted name I doubt it's due to the emulation, beacuse it went fine with the 1.9RC1 firmware :)

Well, you are lucky with your second screenshot, because I've never succeded to get it (so , blueMSX remains for the eternity on the screen before that).

And for version 1.9, indeed, with this tool, blueMSX gives me also the initialisation error as in your first screenshot. This error can also happen with some drives, but I don't know why. If it does not work with Panasonic drive, try a Philips or Sony drive for example.

I think formatting for version 1.9 needs to be made on PC (Windows). There are 2 exe files in the 1.9 package. As you are under Linux, it is useless. Maybe you should ask to BiFi and/or Vampier.
