Hello.
I recently got a hold of 2 x TMS9928 and I'm now temped about building a MSX machine from scratch (breadboard or prototyping board). Has anyone done that before and documented the process?
I plan to use the following schematic as my reference: http://www.zxprojects.com/images/stories/philipsvg802000sm.pdf

To make things easier I was hoping I could find a power supply and an encoder (RGB or composite) so I don't have to build them from scratch. Do you know a good place where I can get one? Maybe a kit?

I found a few MSX Ic kits on eBay, from China. Are they legit?

Btw, I do know it's cheaper to just buy an MSX.
I just want to test my electronics skills :P
Cheers!

Go for GR8BIT, it is a fantastic project to build a MSX from scratch with great support from Eugeny.

I thought about it, but the $500 price tag kinda scares me.
Besides, I want to start with the most basic MSX possible, then work my way up.
Do you know if Eugeny sells the pcbs only? Wish he made a budget version of the GR8BIT Smile

Thanks for sharing the link!
The NC8+ is pretty cool, but I dont want to use FPGAs or any programmable logic.
I have almost all ICs at this point minus the 8255 and some of the glue logic ics.
