TMS9928 on a VG8020:
I know that in Brazil you don't have usually RGB input in you TV's... I just got my Brazilian MSX coffee mug and now I understand the color a bit better. :)
That solves the mystery of why the colors are right in your machine!
Would you kindly repeat the test using the composite video out?
Tested with composite cable and everything ok.
Thanks for your help, AxelStone!
@l_oliveira
Judging by AxelStone test results, it seems that the color problem is caused by the LVA510 TV-Encoder chip. Maybe you could try to replace it with a LM1889, or even better a CXA2075?

If I were to do that I would instead fit a V9938 VDP on the MSX. But the point is moot as that MSX is the one I am using to test and develop changes on the MA-20 firmware.
I have a set of NTSC and PAL international ROMs for MA-20 done. Would you like a copy of them ?
Well, maybe just replace the LVA510 with a LM1889 then, since it's the easier option.

Yes, I would. Thanks!
The pins configuration for using LVA510 encoder with TMS9928/9128 has been found thanks to Werner Kai.
@Leonard
Louthrax is having the same issue with a Toshiba HX-10 in this thread. Could you please publish the recipe on how to fix the problem?
Thanks Snatcher !
