I believe there are several options to do this. But what do you want to achieve exactly?

I want to transfer several BASIC programs I'm writing to the other machine for testing. I don't yet have an SD solution.

If it's just for BASIC programs why not write it to tape and then read it back from tape again? You can even just use your phone or PC as an audio recorder.

As for that TTL-RS232 thing, it looks pretty interesting - would it be possible to use it as a modem interface to visit a BBS or maybe connect to IRC through the host PC's internet?

I can't find anywhere that ships MSX cassette cables to the EU. Cool Novelties which has them, is in the UK and does not ship to the EU. I google for hours.
