Congratulations, Alexey!
Does it still have the restriction for the SCC+, that disables everything else when this feature is activated? Why isn't it possible to use the SCC+ alongside everything else?
No, this feature will not be added. It's not possible to combine the SCC+ option with the default configuration. This option configures the cartridge as the special RAM/SCC expansion and adding more devices (IDE, FMPAC, RAM) will break the compatibility.
Why would it break the compatibility?
Why would it break the compatibility?
I believe the Snatcher and SD-Snatcher games in their unmodified form will only defect the C2 if SCC+ and accompanying RAM are in a primary slot. So combining it with the other features makes no sense. The SCC+ chip without the RAM is already part of the default configuration so other software of modified versions of the games can use it from the sub-slot, although not all software or modified versions will be able to detect and/or use an SCC in a subslot (this is a software issue).
ok, good to hear. As far as I know SD Snatcher is the only game you need the SCC+ for. I guess the VGMplay error is VGMplay-error only, and while it may not be optimal, it won't be much of a inconvenience for the avrage user
Not saying that the VGMPlay detection code is perfect (because it's not), but if it can detect the original SCC+ as well as the MegaFlashROM's as well as the OCM's as well as the PlaySoniq's, which are the devices I tested with, not sure if you could call it a VGMPlay error...
Problem with detection is that it's often based on details of the implementation such as 5th channel wave RAM mirroring to distinguish it from normal RAM, or other specific types of behaviours which not all FPGA implementations may emulate because they are not used for basic playback itself. I recall my first implementation misdetected the PlaySoniq SCC+ so I had to change it to detect based on a different property.
Though if the SCC emulation is based on the 1chipMSX's, pretty weird that it wouldn't work... Anyway reworking the SCC detection is on my to-do list, maybe it will fix things, but I can't guarantee it.

Thanks for the explanation. I was told that the SCC+ wasn't at all present in the default configuration. This is why I asked in the 1st place. If it's there without the RAM, it's good enough for all other applications.
Maybe, to avoid confusion, the the other configuration should be called "SCC+ only" then.
I just recieved a Carnivore2 and fixed a CF card (4gb) which I've formatted and copied the C2-files to. When I'm trying to use _fdisk the programs shows the following:
1. Sunrise IDE
v0.1.5 on slot 1-1
Pressing one the program freezes with the message:
"Sunrise IDE on slot 1-1"
Is this because the internal expander is not disabeled? How can I proceed if I'm not able to do the fdisk?
I've formatted the CF in FAT16 with one big partition from windows pc and it worked fine iirc. But i think it would be fine if 8bits4ever include some 'IDE+RAM' option with disabled slot extention in addition to SCC+ and set of games So you can use FDISK with that...

Should Nextor MSXDOS start if the parition works when booting with DEF-setting?
When I start the DEF-setting I only get Nextor Basic, and I don't really know how to proceed since, staring c2man requiers Dos since it uses .com files, and anyway it is in its own directory (C2) which I'm not able to browse from Basic. Am I missing something? I've read the guides and manuals, but feel very lost using this device (well except for starting the preconfiguerd roms - I really like Shmup! )

Didn't they have a CF-slot called "Installation Nextor" previously that used this configuration?
I'm not sure, unit i received has only default (all on), SCC+, and some games in options
