Update:
I figured out the RCP stuff so now Ikari warriors works, yeah! Smile

I managed to use the RCP on Nemesis 3, but it still freezes when stage 1 starts. As mention earlier however, the RCP was for an earlier version (1.02, not 1.03).

Manbow 2 started after using the RCP, but I could not get past the intro screen. The game screen went black. I did use the RCP as mentioned but did not do any manual patching. However, I used the Manbow2.rom found among the Carnivore2-files.

btw:
the reason I could not delete single entries and use RCP earlier was because i started c2man by typing "c2man" and "c2man /su" when nextor was in "A:\". (The use of /su did no differnce in the display)

When I went to location "A:\C2\CR2\" and wrote "c2man" the program directly became more friendly for editing. That is, the edit- and delete option where showing when entering the edit/erase-screen (in earlier display, when starting from A:\ there simply was no E and D funciton at all, only browsering functions).

I don't know if this is a bug or simply a short cut-error.
NOTE: I have not updated to the latest firmware (since i orderd my cartridge just befor 02.05.2018-version was announced).

Xanadu / Dragon Slayer II (rom)

Has anyone figured out how to use saving in Xanadu? I noticed that if you reset the MSX and load the game again from the RAM-entry (made with c2ramldr and RCP), you can use the continue-option when starting the game. However, once you have power off your MSX the RAM-entry becomes useless and you need to make a new one, and then the save spot is gone.

.

EDIT: (Sorry for posting 1000s of posts)
Got Nemesis 3 to work now, used the RC-764.rom instead of NEMESI3K.rom which solved the problem.

Got mine few days ago. everything working just fine. Haven't had time to explore everything. But tried adding new roms to flashmemory and running .dsk files or roms with sofarun is great. Only thing that's maybe not 100% is the audio. Sometimes sound are a bit crackling or some channels for a second are not heard (however i don't have the real cartridges or too much experience with the real games) All in all i'm very pleased with this purchase Smile

Just finished creating the backup tool. It allows to dump the entire flash chip onto the CF card and also to upload the previously dumped data back to the chip. It takes a while, but could be quite useful.

Now I am working on supporting Arabic and Korean machines in Carnivore2. The tools are already modified to work on those machines, the boot block modifications are still in progress. Unfortunately those machines will have a bit uglier boot block UI because they are using certain characters for controlling the screen's output. So the UI needs to be re-worked to support these machines. Probably some other changes will be needed too.

that sounds very interesting actually. I guess I'm not the only one who runned out of flashing space when loading to many game-entries. Maybe this could allow for loading like a setup of entries of and the possibilites to switch between entry sets sort of.

btw, how does constant flashing effect the rom in the long run. Can the flashing rom be worn out? Should one avoid flashing to often?

Yes, with that tool you can make a collection of games and save it into a file. Then you can make another collection and so on. But be advised, that the dumping process is quite slow and may take up to 10 minutes on slow cards. Flashing is twice faster, but not too fast either. I will try to improve the flashing speed.

No idea how many re-writes a single block of flashROM can sustain. Probably it will last long enough for you to get the grandchildren. Smile
