..have a question

I found SD-Snatcher (English, 3 disks). But who I start the game,
the error message "Insert Sound Cartridge" comes.
Is there a version with SCC sound support?

You could try the melancholia translation (it is a paid one though). That can work without an original sound cartridge (or C2 in special mode). This needs more RAM than the copy you have now but that is no problem since C2 has 1MB RAM.

Hi, I am trying to update the firmware of my C2. On windows 10 the USB-Blaster(altera) does install but then when starting Quartus II programmer standalone, i get a BSoD.
I read that this is a common error. Now I am using VirtualBox with WinXP to try and use it and update the C2.

Anybody got any other ideas? Or is what I am trying the best way?

you might try to engage microsoft to actually fix the blue screen, but otherwise everything is a workaround. having virtualbox with altera is fine, imho. i sometimes do like that and it helps in such cases well. so i'm telling that you selected probably the best workaround Smile

Yeah, MS has been bombarded by others on this, so I will now definitely use Virtualbox to do this, then my old WinXP is usefull for something hahah LOL!

Alexey: For the power-up fix, do you HAVE to use that specific type of schottky diodes or can you also use an Ultra Fast diode instead?
Is it possible to use 2 Altera EPCS config chips in parallel selecting which one to use by putting a swith on the DATA line? That would make multiple configurations (for example NORMAL and SCC+) possible.

For the wishes: Can you make the Carnivore PSG I/O address user selectable between the normal port and the address used by the Megaflashrom (port 10-11)?

Basically any shottky diode should do the job. But I only tested with RB521S-30, so I recommend this one. I am not sure that adding the second EPCS device is a good idea. And it's quite complex task with the current board.

The firmware sources are available. You can create the custom firmware and configure the PSG ports to whatever you like. As the Altera in Carnivore is now 95%+ full, adding the configurable port functionality into the firmware may be impossible. I will ask our engineer about this.

@Pentarou i tried to change the port in firmware, it works, the only frustration is that when you want to change it back you have to reflash

IMHO A switchable EPCS (if possible) would solve the FPGA size limit and allow multiple configurations.
For example, I already have FM built in on my 2+ and I'd prefer to have something else in its place:
YM2151/YM2161/sn76489an Anyone? jotego
:RNFF:

@Pencioner It would be great if the setting could be stored in the EEPROM, just like the volume is now.
