I have a Panasonics MSX FS-A1FX MSX2+ that does not work with some sound cards (Panamusement FM-PAC, yamaha SFG-05), and I put the blame on 12Vdc mains, I know this is just educated guess assumption.

I found this item on Kadenken shop that allegedly should fix it :
Power connection harness for MSX by Lost Technology/mado sen

Some first-hand information about it (still in Japanese) on maker blog page :
Lost Technology MSX AT PSU

It says that some MSXs do not offer 12Vdc in cartridge slots, namely Casio PV-7 / 16, MX-10 / 101. I didn't knew that.

Do anybody know something about it? Do anybody used this item ? Fix in any other way?

Ciao! :)

Not any sort of expert on hardware, but I find it hard to believe that the only MSX2+ Panasonic released without MSX-Music built in would not be compatible with the FM-PAC. In that time the only way to add MSX-Music capability afterwards. So my guess would be that your PSU has issues delivering 12V rather than the FS-A1FX by design not having 12V.

Here you can see a guy using an FM-PAC on an FS-A1WX which has the same mainboard as the FX...

Yes Indeed. The same cartridges, they are two FM-PACs and one SFG-05, do work in the other MSX, a FS-A1ST turbo-R .

I would really suggest checking the power supply of the A1FX, it probably needs a recap.

This cartridge with a ATX connector is the worst solution. It's expensive, impractical, ugly, dangerous and probably noisy.
All Japanese MSXs have the +12V and -12V and it is rare that this is not the case for others.
Repair should not be too complicated. You just have to be a little tenacious.
