By current specification, you can determine which mode (ROM+RAM or RAM) is selected at reset.
There will be four switches:
1: disable/enable BIOS memory
2: disable/enable FM I/O port on C0H-C3H
3: disable/enable FM I/O port on C4H-C7H
4: memory configuration (2MB ROM + 2MB RAM or 4MB RAM)

Above switches determine the default configuration. Thus, you can't the configuration during operation.
Any problem? Then let me know.

"You can't the configuration during operation"

You mean "you can't change the configuration during operation" or "you CAN change"? (I assume it is "you can")

Sorry, it's typo.
The DIP switch is caught at reset. If you change the DIP switch's position after reset, it does not work.

I think it's not necessary to change during application software is running. If you have any reason to change the configuration after reset, let me know.

Ah.. in fact, the switch no. 1 (disable/enable BIOS memory) works even after reset, this is necessary to write new BIOS into the flash memory.

No problem Big smile

I asked because from FUTURE software point of view changing the memory configuration may be useful (swap to internal ROM sounds or 4MB). But I misunderstood something: You can always change the configuration register with software right? (you mentioned that earlier in the topic). If yes then no problem Big smile

Yes, exactly.

DIP S/W is added to keep compatibility to old software (or for lazy programmer Smile).
New software can change the configuration by itself anytime.

DalSoRi R2, awesome! Flash BIOS is real nice, fully tweakable, upgradable and optional, everybody happy Smile. And that I/O base switch means I can use two OPL4s at once! And that nice case...

Also very cool that JunSoft is now accepting direct orders! Smile Maaan... I’m afraid I’m going to have to shell out. I wonder what the final cost + shipping is.

Newspost will be published very soon. Got some other obligations to do, but man that thing is huge... I bet there will be quite some edits by feedback once the post has been published as the manual I just read doesn't give (me) a 100% clear picture of its possibilities.
