gdx is right. I don't think that the interface that Piter showed belongs to the drive. Why? Because the drive has a 50-pin ribbon cable connector at the back. And that adapter converts a 50-pin (MSX) side to a 34-pin (drive) side. So it looks like the interface may be meant for use with a regular PC floppy drive?

Alaadeen: Can you open the drive and try to take some pictures of the electronics? Preferably high resolution such that details like chip markings can be read.

The interface is well integrated into the case with the drive. There is the Disk-ROM and FDD controller (WD1772).

It seems that you need Expansion bus to MSX cartridge adapter such as SVI-213... As these are not widely available to buy, I think your best option is to buy MSX protoboard such as this one:

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/New-Protoboard-for-MSX-Computer-/263...

... and then solder something like:
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/DS1014-50RF1B-Socket-IDC-male-PIN-50...

to it... I don't think that you even need to add any additional jump wires as AFAIK the pinout is 1/1 same.

Alaadeen: If you manage to get it connected to one of your MSX systems, it would be nice if you could dump (copy) the ROM of it. This way it can be emulated.

Why not... Add to the cable something like

https://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pcs-2-54mm-0-1-Pitch-2x25-Pin-50-P...

and

https://www.ebay.com/itm/20Pcs-2mm-2-0mm-Pitch-2x25-Pin-50-P...

and you can still use it for it's original purpose as well... Just make sure you attach the connectors right way around to avoid any unwanted smoke. :)

Nice! Your pictures helped a lot.

You only need a 50-wires flat cable with two IDC connectors to connect your CPF350 to the bus expansion of an MSX from Daewoo. Please, do not make a very long cable.

As said by NYYRIKKI, if you want to use it in a "normal" MSX cartridge slot you'll need an adapter. The adapter that you show in last post looks like a good candidate to be "adapted". I would cut the flat cable close to the "Yamaha" side of the unit connector and put an IDC connector in the cable and another one on the board. So I could use the floppy drive and wouldn't lost the Yamaha unit connector.

If you want more info about your CPF-350, you can take some tips from the User Manual of CPF-550/CPF-360:

Talent MSX CPF550/CPF360 User Manual

The manual is in english.

Alaadeen, here is a forum thread on how to dump ROMs
https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/emulation/dumpingreverse-...

There is a link to a ZIP file with utilities in the first post that you can run on the MSX to gather data and dump ROMs.
