Dear All,

I have CRT Monitor and it has a built-in cable from one side only, it is a VGA-Male that I used to connect to my PC.

I tried to connect to MSX turbo R GT and I failed. I used several adapters but the screen is not accepting.

Is there any solution... please help.

Regards,

Sniper

You can use a Dreamcast VGA box (if you change the connector) or a GBS-8220 Converter.

(I have not tried it myself.)

Thanks....

I think Scart Female to VGA Female will be perfect, then I can connect monitor VGA-Male and turbo R Scart-Male.

But... I couldn't find this adapter

A other solution:

The framemeister XRGB-mini. Sold in Japan. Expensive but effective even in "SCREEN 0: WIDTH 80".

Dear syn & gdx

Please see below link:

http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/XRGB-3

What do think ?
If I plug turb R GT Scart and the VGA of CRT monitor, is this will work perfectly ?
Can I connect Home Theatre along with MSX turbo R GT and listen to game sound from it ?
The item cost is USD 318 + Shipping in Amazon, Shall I buy it ? Do you recommend ?

Waiting for the answers .... and thanks in advance.

I think you will get a similar image to framemeister XRGB-mini image.

THe XRGB-3 is expensive too. It did not seem to like the Sega Master System (and maybe some MSX 1).

If im correct the xrgb mini doesnt have vga out.

Also I am not too much of an expert on this so anything down here may not be correct:

I think xrgb/upscalers are just needed for flatscreen tvs/monitors? and sniper22477 wants to connect his msx to a CRT monitor (vga)
Upscalers are needed if your flatscreen tv doesnt support the resolution your old computers/consoles resolution. Older CRT monitors may support 240p resolution, but best is to verify this beforehand.

Do you actually see an image with your converters/adapters? also how are you connecting at this time? because there is difference between euro and japanese scart if im correct. So if you are using a japanese turbo r scart cable and a european scart-vga adapter for example, I dont think that would work.

If I understand correctly, the problem with RGB on vga is that the refreshrate differs (CRT vga monitors typically have at least 31khz refresh rate while rgb is 15khz). If you connect RGB system on a vga monitor with a simplistic adapter (one that just rewires the cables/pins) you would probably see some flickering msx image.

Rather than an XRGB converter, it would be much cheaper to get a 15 kHz CRT monitor or TV with SCART or RGB input...

Thanks syn....
My situation as follows:
I have a CRT monitor and it has a VGA-male cable that comes directly from this monitor. In the other hand, I have 2 types of cables that I can connect turbo R GT with the TV:
1- 8-Pin Large (in turbo R) - SCART (in TV)
2- 8-Pin Large (in turbo R) - RCA (in TV)

The problem now.... How can I connect this CR monitor to MSX ?
